WHAT IS THE MIND~BODY CONTINUUM?
Experience, including physical stress, emotional injury, and pleasures are stored in the body's cells which in turn affects one's reactions to stimuli. Mind Body is an approach to understand the relationship between the human body and mind in which they are seen as a single integrated unit. It is attempting to address problems that arise in the body and mind as being linked in some manner, rather than addressing one singularly.
WHAT IS MINDFULNESS?
Mindfulness is the psychological process of bringing one's attention to the internal and external experiences occurring in the present moment. Studies have also shown that rumination and worry contribute to mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety, and that mindfulness-based interventions are effective in the reduction of both rumination and worry. The past is a memory and the future an idea, the only true moment we have is right now.
